1963

In 1963, the then Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, made his first visit to Jurong Constituency. Mr Lee was given a warm welcome and the community leaders took this opportunity to request for a secondary school that was lacking in this constituency.

Mr Lee gave a positive reply and within three months, Jurong Integrated Secondary School, the first secondary school was formed.

On 28th August 1963, Mr Chor Yoke Eng, on behalf of the Prime Minister, officiated the school at 13th Mile, Old Jurong Road. In the later years, the school was renamed as Jurong Secondary School.

1974

On 2nd November 1974, the teachers and 600 pupils of Jurong Secondary School walked out of Hong Kah Village along Old Jurong and Corporation Road to reach the new premise in Jurong Town. Mr Ho Kah Leong, ex-honorary member of Parliament and the School Advisory Committee joined us in a flag raising ceremony.

   

1994

Over the years, our school had undergone several upgrades and expansion. In 1994, two new blocks of classrooms and special rooms were added. The administrative block, library, science laboratories and the home economics rooms were fully renovated.

2001

In 2001, our school was upgraded again under the PRIME project. Existing classrooms, school canteen, library and the staff room were made bigger. New school hall, science laboratories, administrative block were built. More facilities like computer laboratories were added as well.
